Mincemeat pinwheels

 

225g (8 oz) pack ready-rolled butter puff pastry

1 jar mincemeat

1 egg, beaten

 

How to make it…

 

Unroll the pastry and spread thinly with the mincemeat then roll-up like a Swiss roll. Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.

 

Remove from the cling film and cut into ½cm (¼”) thick slices. Place on the Plain Shelf or a baking tray lined with Bake-O-Glide or baking parchment. Brush the pinwheels with beaten egg to glaze.

 

AGA: Cook in the Roasting Oven on the 2nd set of runners for 10-12 minutes until well risen and golden. Dust with icing sugar and serve warm.

 

Conventional oven: Bake at 210°C/Gas 7 for 12 minutes until well risen and golden.  Dust with icing sugar and serve warm.
